Perhaps you've always wanted to learn how to doodle a Bible or how to doodle a book.  There's good news, creative sister!

If I can learn how to doodle Bibles and books then it can be done by anyone- including you!

Today's tutorial will cover how to draw an easy book in four ways, an open Bible,  side by side Bibles and two views of a closed Bible.

Whichever method you choose to draw, you'll find these tutorials easy to follow for learning how to draw a Bible or book.

Learn How to Doodle a Bible- Supplies Needed

The supplies needed to learn how to doodle a Bible (or to learn how to doodle a book) are probably things you already have on hand.

Don't let the fact that you don't have professional tools discourage you from learning.

Just grab your supplies and get started to incorporate your faith and art to draw an easy book, your Bible.

For analog drawing you'll need:

1. Drawing Paper or Sketchpad
2. A Pencil of your choice
3. An Eraser
4. Markers, or other Tools, to Color your Creation

For the image examples in this blog post, I went digital.  The supplies I used are:

Learn How to Doodle a Book with 4 Different Methods

Are you ready to learn how to draw an easy book/Bible 4 different ways?

In this blog post, you'll find 4 easy tutorials, with step by step instructions to get you started!

How to Draw a Closed Book Step by Step- top view

The first tutorial we will learn today is how to draw a closed book step by step from the top view, looking down at the book.

It's one of the easier Bibles to draw and this view is looking down from the top.

1. Draw a rectangle which will serve as the front cover
2. Draw a long line and a U to connect it to the rectangle- this will be the back cover
3. Draw a long line that extends from the U all the way down to the bottom of the spine.  Connect a small line to close the spine
4. Add wavy lines for the pages of the Bible
5. Add lines to add to the binding.
6. Color your Bible in your desired colors with your markers or pencils
7. Add Holy Bible to the front of your Bible cover for your book title

Did you catch the mistake where I added Holy Bible and then removed it?  Sorry about that.  🙂

How to Draw a Closed Book Step by Step– Bottom View

The second tutorial on how to draw a closed book is from the bottom view- where you can see the bottom spine of the Bible.

1. Draw a Rectangle
2. Draw a long U and connect it to the spine of the Bible
3. Connect the spine with one long line
4. With long wavy lines draw the pages
5. Draw horizontal lines on the spine of the book
6. Embellish the book spines to your liking-  Tip: check out vintage books for inspiration or add your own touch of creative whimsy
7. Color your Bible with your favorite markers or colored pencils
8. Add Holy Bible for the book title.

How to Draw an Open Bible Step by Step

The third tutorial on how to draw a Bible picture open is a bit more difficult compared to the first two variations.

Drawing open Bibles is a bit more challenging since everything needs to be more perfectly balanced and symmetrical.  As you can see,  mine isn't perfect… and that's okay.  Part of the creative journey is learning to embrace our imperfections.

1. Draw a rectangle and a line down the center for the center spine of the book.
2. Add 4 arcs on each of the 4 pages.
3. Erase the straight lines and add a small curve for at the center bottom for the spine.
4. Fill in the black leather cover around the edges of the Bible and fill in the pages with lines at the bottom.
5. Color and embellish your Bible to your personal taste with your favorite markers or colored pencils
6. Inscribe your page with Scripture if desired

How to Draw Bibles Stacked Side by Side

The fourth and final Bible drawing tutorial is how to draw stacked Bibles side by side.  This can also be drawn as Bibles stacked one on top of another in a bookshelf.

1. Draw 5 horizontal lines at varying heights, making sure the second and third lines are the same height.  Close the bottom of the lines.
2. Add arcs to the top of each book
3. Decorate the spines to your liking-  Tip: use vintage books for inspiration or add your own touch of whimsy
4. Color the spines with markers or colored pencils
5. Add hearts and/or embellishments of your choice for personalization
6. Add book titles or Holy Bible to the spine

Well, Creative Sister,  You now have the tools you need to draw a book 3d style, from both the top and bottom views,  draw an open Bible and also draw a book standing up and/or stacked.
